Our next-door neighbor

The LES is right next door to our East Village stand. We can practically wave at our customers on Orchard from 2nd Ave. It’s a five-minute bike ride, ten if there’s a movie shoot blocking Houston, which there usually is.

We deliver across the entire Lower East Side: Orchard, Ludlow, Essex, Rivington, Stanton, Suffolk, Allen, Eldridge. From Houston down to Canal, from Bowery over to the FDR. We know the buildings here. We know which sixth-floor walk-ups make us regret breakfast. We know which bartenders on Ludlow let us park the bike on the sidewalk for ten minutes while we run a tree up to a customer.

The neighborhood has a particular kind of energy. Old tenements, generations of immigrant history, Katz’s, Russ and Daughters, and now bars where a cocktail costs eighteen dollars. We love all of it. Our customers here range from people whose grandparents grew up on Orchard to people who moved in last June. The Christmas trees are the same either way: fresh, fragrant, hand-picked from our farms in NC and PA.

If you order on a Saturday afternoon, expect us to take the long way so we can grab a knish on the route. Worth it.
